DTD’s

Stands for document type definition and basically means a set rules that validates the docment from the start and can identify the content of the document.

There are three different XHTML dtd’s

  • Strict 

                    This DTD contains all HTML elements and attributes, but does NOT INCLUDE presentational or deprecated element(like font). Framesets are not allowed.

  • Transitional

This DTD contains all HTML elements and attributes, INCLUDING presentational and deprecated elements (like font). Framesets are not allowed.

  • Framset

This DTD is equal to HTML 4.01 Transitional, but allows the use of frameset content.
