Further artist research

After reading pretty much every book in the library that had the title ‘family photography’, I decided to move on and to look at child photography in general. I am interested in the difference between photographing a family member that is a child and photographing a random child.

Here is a selection of artist that have had series of work that include photographing children:

Cath Pearson

“Cath peason’s photographs of her daughter made when she became a single parent show the powerful and moving bond between single child and single parent. Pearson’s daughter, caught at that fleeting moment between babyhood and girlhood moves around in the cityscape seemingly alone but, as we know, always closely observed by her mother.” – Val Williams.

Caroline Molloy

“Caroline Molloy explores the bond between children whose pairing is inescapable and hugely complicated.” – Val Williams.
